The Highway 308 Residence is a model of sustainable, off-grid living. Designed as an all-electric home, it integrates super-insulated walls, triple-pane windows, and a PV array to achieve near energy independence. Natural ventilation, an energy recovery ventilator with a ground-source preheater, rainwater catchment, graywater reuse, and composting systems create a closed-loop approach to resource efficiency. An integrated passive solar garden room enhances comfort and connection to the landscape, while reclaimed family-heritage black walnut woodwork brings warmth, memory, and craftsmanship to the home’s interior.
